I'm not sure which version of webkit it uses, but its not super new. But yeah the new version of PhoneGap Symbian that I'm working on (while still maintaining the WRT version) is based on Qt Webkit, from Qt 4.6 (still only a release candidate). I haven't tested its capabilities with HTML 5 ... but according to http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKitFeatures46 they're implementing some leading edge stuff.
